Overview

Far West Notary ("we," "us," or "our") provides mobile notary and Remote Online Notarization (RON) services in San Antonio, Texas and statewide. This policy explains what information we collect through farwestnotary.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices available to you. It does not cover the notarial journal, RON audio-video recordings, or other records we are required to keep under Texas law in connection with performing a notarial act — those records are governed by Texas Government Code Chapter 406 and related regulations, not by this policy.

Information You Provide

If you contact us by phone, email, or any form on the Site, we collect what you send us directly — typically your name, phone number, email address, and details about the document or appointment you're inquiring about. We use this only to respond to you, schedule and perform notarial services, and maintain records required by Texas law.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, the Site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use it — pages viewed, time on site, general location (derived from IP address), device and browser type, and referring site. This information is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

Analytics only runs if you accept cookies through the banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google Analytics. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the site footer.

Cookies

A cookie is a small file stored by your browser. We use only one category:

We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies, and we do not sell or share data for advertising purposes.

You can also block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings, or use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies may not affect the functionality of this Site, since it is not required to use it.

How We Use Information

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information with Google LLC as our analytics provider, subject to Google's own privacy practices. We may also disclose information where required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order, or as necessary to comply with Texas notary recordkeeping requirements.

Data Retention

Contact and appointment information is kept only as long as reasonably needed to provide services and meet recordkeeping obligations. Analytics data is retained by Google according to our GA4 account settings. Notarial journal entries and RON session records are retained separately, for the period required under Texas law.

Your Choices & Rights

You can decline or withdraw analytics consent at any time via the cookie banner or the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information — such as the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information we hold about you. To make a request, email info@farwestnotary.com. Note that information contained in the notarial journal or RON records generally cannot be deleted, as Far West Notary is legally required to retain it.

Children's Privacy

This Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
